Hello,

My iPhone 13 Pro Max is scheduled to be delivered on Friday by 7:00 PM. I won't be home after 12:30 PM. Looking at my tracking I'm considering changing the delivery location to a near by UPS store or CVS location, ideally this would allow me to pick it up earlier in the morning. Has anyone tried this before? UPS wasn't able to tell me what time it would be available for pick up at these locations over the phone.

Changing it to a UPS store wont usually speed that up, as it still has to go from the hub to that store on a brown truck, sometimes it even adds a day.

You could try to get customer service to change it to counter pickup at the hub, but they may not allow it before first delivery attempt.

As above stated. Changing it to UPS Store or any other access point may not speed up the process. They may not even get to that access point till after later in the afternoon. Plus, there is always a possibility that it will further delay by 1 business day and you won’t be able to pick it up till Monday.

*Note some do have luck being able to pick it up on the same day.

While UPS my choice no longer has the UPS CC option, you can call UPS and see if you can request your package to be picked up at the UPS CC. You may want to check their operating hours. This would be the safest choice if you plan to pick it up soonest.

I emailed UPS via their email and they have changed my delivery to be picked up at the UPS CC.

I changed mine last year to the UPS CC and it added a day to the process. I assumed I could get it there Friday, but it ended up not being available at the CC until Saturday morning.

Reading some other posts it appears that a signature is required, as I work 9-5 during the week I obviously wouldn't be home so I changed the delivery to a local UPS store for pickup so that either during work or after work I can go and get it.

Thanks for posting this, I probably won't risk it then, I'll have to try and find someone to stay come to my house and sign for it for me.

I had my big Mac Pro shipped to a UPS store for me to pick up after work. No way was I going to have that sit outside in front of my house all day

If you change your delivery to the warehouse that your truck leaves from (mine is called a Customer Service Center) you can typically get it first thing in the morning on Friday -- assuming you switch at least 24 hours in advance. Of course, my issue is that the Customer Service center closest to me has very limited hours, from 8-10 am and 5:30-7 pm. I'm lucky in that mine is only a few miles away but, for many people, it can be on the other side of a city or in another city an hour away.

If you select a UPS store or other dropoff location (such as CVS), then you won't get it earlier and typically it is not available until the following morning.

It all depends. Up until last year, I always had them shipped to my house, but I would reroute them to the local UPS store because the truck would hit there around 10-10:30 am, but wouldn’t hit my house until 3-4pm despite being a mile from the UPS store. I’ve also done CC pickup in the past, but haven’t used that option in like 7 years since I live further away from the CC at my new place.

My choice premium for $20 a year apparently gives you the option to confirm a 2 hour delivery window. Not sure how it works

This is the email I received from UPS last year after requesting pickup at the CC more than 24 hours in advance of the 10/23 delivery date. This email was received at 11:49PM on Friday the 23rd, so I had to pick it up Saturday. As I mentioned in a previous post, my expectation when submitting the request to hold at the CC was that I'd be able to walk in Friday morning and grab it but that was not the case. YMMV.

The email below does mention "only same day w/c 7PM-9PM". Assuming w/c means will call, seems that same day pickup isn't offered at this location since they close at 6PM. Not sure if they're open only for will call 7PM-9PM?
