I am rather new to this Apple system but I am having trouble with an Excel file almost doubling in size after minimal entries (no graphics), now up to 3 MB!

I acted on advice and created a 2nd user account to check out the problem. That now seems to have solved the issue, at least I'm convinced that I should replace my initial admin user account.

The replacement (UC2) with admin access doesn't give access to the files of UC1 admin account. That to me is understandable but can anyone tell me if I delete UC1 , its files will then automatically show up in UC2 or do I need to approach it differently.

No, if you delete the account there is an option to save the deleted account data or delete it. But is dos not get moved into the other, new account.

Assuming you just have some documents to move over, just put them in the /Users/Shared folder then you can access that folder from the other account and copy them in before you delete the old account.
