Chaning accounts on IPhone - can I keep data?

I've been using my boyfriend's iTunes account to sync my iPhone because we share music on 1 external hard drive on his computer. I would like to change my iPhone to sync with my iTunes account on my computer and am concerned that I will loose all my data &apps, ESPECIALLY my contacts. Is there a way to transfer data between the accounts? I can always hook up the hard drive for the music, but how do I get the apps and contacts?
