Channel 4 catch up online service is now working on macs, it seems that it is a beta version.
I'm incredibly happy about this as now I don't have to use windows at all, got a nice big chunk of my HDD back now:D

Nope, ITV uses silverlight, C4 has been using damn WMP and only supporting Windows.

Yay, now I can watch shameless :D

its a shame that the desktop player still isnt compatable, but i can live with that. I suspect that will get updated in a few months time just like BBC iPlayer.

    Link

Here's a link form channel 4 with details about the new Channel 4 online catch up: http://blogs.channel4.com/platform4/2009/04/01/its-here-all-new-4od-catch-up/

"We are using an Adobe Flash player to deliver the content, meaning you’ll now be able to view our programmes on any platform so long as you’ve got Flash (version 9.0.124 or higher) installed, meaning Apple Mac and Linux OS users should now be able to join the party."

im finding the video is quite jumpy. anyone else finding this?
do you think it is due to the encoding of the video and will improve when new shows are added?

Yes at effing last, now I can catch up on Hollyoaks when I like and not have to watch that stupid long version when I only want to see 30 minutes of it (I miss every Tuesday).

I just noticed this 20 minutes ago. So happy! :D

Edit: I'm not feeling so happy anymore. Streaming a show my airport connection disappears every 5 minutes (it's not my mac, my BT Homehub just stops wirelessing). Having stopped watching the show the connection's back to being flawless.

    It's all very weird.

That's excellent news. I was amazed the other week that Channel 5 was available on a mac and not C4

I tried watching "the inbetweeners" last night, it got 1 minute in and then paused before slowing down my entire internet connection before my wireless router reset itself!

I love the fanfare of apologies to mac users the first time you view something.
