iPod Charge and iPod but not sync?

Can you charge an iPod with out syncing the library to the iPod? If so how?

In the iTunes settings you can change it so iTunes doesn't open when you plug in an iPod.

Or you could plug it into a sleeping Mac. I don't think that causes it to wake up but should start charging...

My iMac wakes up when the iPod gets plugged in. I think they're secretly dating.
