Correct the charge circuit for an iPhone is 1.5 not 1 as stated earlier
The internal charging circuit. Having tried this with a multimeter, I've only ever gotten the iPhone to charge at a maximum of 1.5A. Even when using the iPad's 2A charger, only 1.5A goes through the wires into the iPhone's dock.
That's what I am looking for! I knew there was a speed difference in charging between the standard 1amp and 2amp iPad charger. I assume the 1amp charger won't charge at a full 1amp, maybe 8-900ma?
The iPhone's 1A charger outputs at just above 1A. Probably 1,050mA. The iPad's charger outputs at 2.00A. I currently do not know the maximum the iPad can draw. My guess, 2.5A.
In the RC world, low amp charges took longer but yielded a longer lasting battery with not as much max output. Faster, higher amp chargers yielded higher top speeds but less run time.
