FYI, and it makes perfect sense, you can stick the pencil in an Iphone to charge it as well. Looks like a selfie stick when plugged into an iphone, not that I suggest you use it for that or in general use a selfie stick!

I did search before posting, both charging pencil and ipad pencil charging and nothing came up.
It's ok sometimes when I search I really can't find anything either. Most is just arbitrary at best. Then ppl act superior at you because they so happened to catch a thread when it was new lol. Don't take it personally.

Although I've yet to try it you can probably use an iPhone dock to charge it too. I have an iPhone 5S dock which I use to charge my Apple TV remote and I'm sure it would work with the Apple pencil in the same way.

You can use the iPhone dock to charge the pencil but you would have to also use the adapter. I'm afraid to use the adapter because I'd probably lose it. :(

I just use the iPhone or iPad for charging.

I wonder why the pencil only lasts twelve hours? I know you don't use it as consistently but the new Apple TV remotes last months on a charge while having a track pad, gyroscopes, IR and Bluetooth. I wonder what the size difference is between the two batteries?

A rather big one.

410mAh vs 86mAh

I have a little doobry (Cozy Micro USB Lightning adapter holder) which I attached to the lightning cable which I leave plugged into my iMac. They also sell one with the pencil cap version (which I also have), the adapter feels secure and I always know exactly where it is.

I just stick the Apple Pencil into my iPad. It looked awkward at first, but I can see now why Apple designed it that way. It's an elegant solution to an inelegant solution (a stylus needs to be recharged ever so often, and it may run out in the most inopportune of moments, like me being in the middle of a lesson without access to a charger).
