Charge Iphone only from MBP USB - C

Hi folks! I have Macbook pro 16' and Iphone 11, I know about some people charge phone from new Macbook USB-C but is it safe in long way? Can I charge my iphone only by the Macbook?

Why would you do this? You can charge it everywhere you want.

the charging controller sits in your phone and takes control
