That’s definitely a help to try and disable the sound chime yep but what worry’s me is see the watch continuously going in the reboot mode (Apple logo). I just feel like it’s damaging it somehow constantly doing that :(
Yeah I don’t have a fix for that. Luckily mine doesn’t do that. Hope you find a fix!

Thank you and I too hope so.

I’m trying to drain the battery completely on my S2 it’s been about 1 week but it’s still showing the time when I click the crown button.
I wonder how long it will take to completely die?

Thinking maybe this might help somehow? I’ve ran out of ideas.

To be honest, on the charger that cane with my watch I noticed it be more fussy about getting seated, and I have always had a hell of a time with aftermarket pucks. After a couple of the more recent updates prior to OS9 the apple one was the only one that worked. The others would fluctuate the connection and never charge. Now in truth that could be because they were plugged into a low wattage wall charger, but it became way more sensitive to it and I could basically only charge at home.

Just updated to watchos9 on Series 7. I use a third party charging stand with its own puck (not Apple puck) first time charging last night, gets to 100% then pings every now and then. Had to put it in Theatre Mode. Checked charge this morning, the charge was @ 83%, I guess the Watch would not accept a charge because the off and on charging? Worked perfect till update.

I guess Apple have put some sort of block on third party chargers ?

I have noticed pinging from Watch on charger randomly since update. Wakes me up.

Same here on both series 5 and 6. Applying updates watchOS 9.1 beta 1 to 4 (and iOS 16.0.2) didn’t restore the fix that was on watchOS 8.4

Anyone knows if Apple is aware of the (regression) issue ? Why this wasn’t published in wider scope (like main page article) ?

Have you all tried turning off Wifi from the Watch it self?
I dont mean from the shortcut menu from the actually Settings menu then wifi and toggle it off all together.

My S2 Watch about a month ago started to go bonkers on the charger. Constant random chimes and random reboots with the Apple logo.
I turned off Wifi on the Watch and since last week (full 7 days now) each night when i place it on the charger its back to normal. No chimes and no reboots.

Tried and it still the same.
Also this issue is with watchOS 9 which is only available for S4 (and up) and only with some third-party chargers, so your S2 experience doesn’t seems relevant.

Sorry to hear to it couldn't help and it was just a suggestion to try.
I know this is for watchOS9 problem in this thread but the issue does sound very similar to what i was experiencing with my S2 thats running OS6.3

I do own a newer Apple Watch with is running OS9 but thankfully i havnt received any problems with that one.

FWIW, I use a Nomad Base Station to charge my watches. I’ve charged an SE 1, AW 8, and S7 on the Base Station without issue. All are on 9.0.X.

I’ve had the random intermittent pings with my SE but that was prior to 9. No issues since; all watches charge to 100% without tweaking settings.

When I turned my S2 WiFi off it stopped its restart/chime cycle. It had been restarting on both Apple and Belkin chargers. Dunno if if newer watches work the same but thought I'd Mention it.

Well I thought I’d have another look at this problem as I’ve just updated to WatchOS 9.4. tried my old 3rd Party charger again and still got the charging beep, original problem.

I thought I would try ColdCase solution and turn Wi-Fi off. So far so good beep has gone away.

👍

Nope started beeping again. 😢

The only way ive been able to get my AW to charge properly is (the S2 that has the beeping problem) i have wifi fully turned off on it and then i have to be making sure im wearing another AW so that old S2 has ZERO connection with my iPhone, showing that little red iPhone symbol with the line through it.

Thats the only way my older Watch now will charge without the constant beeping at random :/

You know, I'm always wearing either the S2 or a S6 watch. So the wifi trick may be working for me because of that.
