So since the new remote came out. I have been wondering how I can display it and charge it, then it hits me. Technically it's charged by a lightening port so can't I just use the new iPhone dock to charge the remote? Or am I just crazy lol

I think the lightning dock will be able to charge most things Lightning. Hell, use it to charger your remote, keyboard, and trackpad!

i've had mine for a month and half, it's still got what looks to be close to 75% of the factory charge left in it.
i have been working a lot, and not watching much tv, but still do an hour or so a day.

not sure if it's still the case with current batteries, but overcharging used to not be good for them. they do better when allowed to get some exercise.

for the one night every month or 2 you should have to charge it, seems like overkill to get the dock.

That's how I store and charge mine.

But you only have to charge it once every couple of months
Why charge the remote all day everyday when not in use

The dock is just a handy place to keep the remote. The battery's micro-controller decides whether to charge it or not.

I used the stand to charge/store my remote. But since the ATV can be controlled by the iPad I don't even use the hand remote anymore. It just sits near a lamp just in case.

I took the stand/dock to work for my iPhone. I get up/down a lot so I like being able to keep my Bose plugged into the stand and just grab/replace the phone from the stand/dock whenever necessary. I'm guess I must be pretty simple but the convenience pleases me.
