Wow

Wow. How do you unplug your charger? That broke from pulling it straight out of the wall. The cord is one thing but the adapter is something else. They are having a recall on that piece. It comes out on Oct 10th. I will wait a little while until I get mine replaced.

dont quite get what your saying. I think the recall is do to the prongs not sitting in the plastic right, not them actually physically snapping off, they just pull out.

Im pretty sure the recall was because the prongs were snapping off.

well i looked it over and it seems that the prong just fell out...
and that would have sucked if it got suck in the wall
thanks :apple: ;-)

The same exact thing happened to my usb cord, I don't know if apple will replace it either

I've already replaced the phone 3 times, the headphones, now the charger & the usb cord.. woo!

Wow. How did you break that?

Definite danger there. :p

Yeah, that sounds reasonable that the prong just fell out. Sure we believe you. Say I have some water front land in Florida that I can sell you. ;) :p

nah all you need is some pliers with insulated handles to pull the prong out

Please don't even try this if you don't know what you're doing (like when I say, make sure that you've tripped the circuit breaker for those power lines first, if you don't know what I'm talking about, call an electrician). Of course it isn't hard to do, but it's also not hard for some idiot to electrocute her or himself.

Yeah, the end of the USB side of the cable is breaking (the wires are starting to stick out like that pic you posted asking if anyone has had that problem) well my answer is yes

-Sucks...still waiting for my replacement.........

Yep, all three of my cables have that on both ends, and two of them are only a couple weeks old. I dont bend them at crazy angles or anything. They need to redesign the little protective boot at each end of the cable to give more protection.

My USB cord is doing the same thing also. Maybe we should start giving Apple Care a call about this, get enough complaints maybe they will be recalled also.

I agree that the "little protective boot at each end" should have been designed to be more durable. I'm very easy going on mine, and it's slightly bent now. There's no way the prongs will ever get bent on my AC adapter though. I still think someone would have to be "yanking" it out of the wall at an angle really hard, over and over (abusive, but not with the intent to break it) for the prongs to break off. According to the original recall, the prongs were made out of a cheap [chinese] metal, and the new prongs will be of a higher-strength metal.

Hey, somebody make a photo of themselves pretending to rip the cord and plug out of the wall ! :D
(don't actually rip it out though, because you could get electricuted. then, your relatives would have to sell your iPhone on eBay  )
