2011 MBA with a 45W MagSafe power adapter "L" duckhead style connector. The bottom charger pin gets stuck, which I believe is a ground. The bottom pin connector on the MBA appears blackened and some of the plastic around it is gone. It only charges with the power cable downwards, parallel to the computer. It charges fine in this direction, but I'm worried about long-term effects. Should i get this repaired ASAP, or as long as it charges, no worries?

I would clean that jack with a hobbyists' wire brush until is shinny and replace the charger completely.
