Charger wire is damaged (rubber/plastic part is ripping)

Hello!

Unfortunately my Macbook Pro charger wire is ripping (near the connector). It's quite bad, with around 1 inch of the metal wire exposed.

I have Apple Care, but will it cover this sort of damage? I'll call it wear and tear.

Yep, if you have AppleCare it should the covered.
