I've never had a wireless mouse. I've been using an Apple Mouse M5769 for over 20 years now. I've had a couple.

I'm thinking of getting the Apple Magic Mouse.

Is there an indicator that lets you know when it needs to be charged?

When it's plugged in to charge can it be used while charging?

Use the BT app under Settings to see the battery status. I get several week’s worth of usage out of mine.

The Magic Mouse cannot be used while it’s charging. That’s one of the biggest knocks against it. However, a quick 5-10 charge will get you several more hours of use. I tend to charge over night when I see the battery level is below 20%.

You linked to the Magic Mouse 2, which is the current version of the Magic Mouse. The distinction is only important if you're buying used; the first Magic Mouse used AA batteries to power itself.

You can check the Magic Mouse 2's charge level from your macOS menu bar by clicking the Bluetooth icon if present, or alternatively by opening the Control Center (also in the menu bar) and clicking the "Bluetooth" text label (clicking the icon toggles Bluetooth). macOS also informs you when the charge is getting low. There is no indicator on the mouse itself.

The Magic Mouse 2 can't be used while plugged in, because the Lightning charging port is on the bottom of the mouse.

Thanks. I fixed the title of my thread.
