I'm eagerly waiting for my iPad Pro 11" and I'm wondering about charging the thing. Will I be able to charge from a standard 2A iPad charger or do I need to use the higher amp charger? I understand that it will charge slower with a lower amp unit so I just want to know if will work. TIA

the standard iPad charger was designed for Lightning cables, therefore it would not work. The newer iPad Pros (2018+) use USB-C that is capable of fast charging with a matching USB-C wall charger (MacBook chargers, etc) with higher wattage.

Right, thanks. I know the lightning cables won't work. What I'm asking is if an iPad Pro can charge from a 2A charging brick. I have a multi port USB charging brick (2A each port) and want to find out if I can use that for the iPad Pro.

It should work. I’ve charged my iPad Pro 11’ from a 2.4a USB A? Port with no problems. Since my iPad is a beast when it comes to battery, I never really have to worry about it. It does charge slower. 99% of the time, though, I just use my MBP charger. Since most of my charging is >85% it Is trickle charging anyway so it never heats up or uses the “rapid” charging.

It does. It just charges slower. It may be better for the battery anyway to charge it more slowly.
