Quick question, can I charge the new MBA with my 15" MBP charger? I don't want to take 2 chargers on my trips so which one do I take to allow charging of both devices?

Yes you can. It works well. Just make sure to take the MBP charger as the MBA charger is not really powerful enough to charge your MBP.

Im not so sure that's entirely accurate. I haven't experimented with the MBA but my experience with other laptops is that If the laptop is off they will likely charge at the same rate, but if it's on and especially if it's doing intensive tasks that require a lot of power, the charge rate of the lower capacity chargers will slow to a crawl since most of their capacity is being used to power the machine vs higher capacity chargers that still have enough reserve to charge the battery at a decent rate.
I've been using a 15" MBP power supply to charge my MBA since I got it - it's fine.

Yes, this is true, the operating needs override the charging needs of a computer in use. However, the OP was only asking about charging the computers he was taking on the road to avoid carrying multiple chargers, and was planning on taking the larger 85w unit with him. That charger will work fine with the MBPro and the MBAir that were mentioned.
