Charging Current of Iphone

Can someone please tell me the Charging current of the Iphone. Looked everywhere to find it and cant locate it.

500mA if you are charging from USB.

1000 mA if charging from the wall charger.

iPhone powerbrick apple supplied - 5v @ 1amp
obviously the figure in the previous post is correct too as there the USB specs for a computer.

You also have to make sure you use the correct polarity.

Would it be correct to assume that the wall charger @ 1,000 mA would charge the phone twice as fast as a USB port @ 500 mA?
