Charging iPhone 5 with USB Extension Cable?

Hi,

Are there any risks with charging an iPhone 5 with a USB (Female to Male) extension cable? I'm charging it straight from the wall socket, and it charges fine, but I'm wondering if it can damage my iPhone.
