Hi,

I think all of you have heard that some 3rd party adapters may damage the MBP2016 when used for charging it via them.

Now my question: do you think a 3rd party (non apple) adapter, combined with the apple charger could damage my MBP2016?

I have the no TB version and would like to start using 2 monitors with my macbook so I will need to add charing via an adapter.

thanks in advance! 🙂

Are you talking about an adapter such as the Apple Digital AV adapter which has USB-C for charging as well as HDMI and USB-A? So one adapter which simultaneously charges your MacBook and provides with video output?

Maybe it's clearer if you share which adapter you're thinking of buying specifically.

I have heard that the adapters must comply to some USB or something standard where the cables and USB heads and holes are manufactured to a standard. Otherwise it could cause power fluctuation that can damage the delicate USB C port of the new Mac.
