Charging problems: This accessory may not be supported

Ever since the update my phone will stop charging and I get a pop up telling me that "this accessory may not be supported"

I'm using and Apple brand charging cord. I'm charging from my computer's USB port. The cable is only three weeks old and has worked perfectly since I bought it until yesterday.

If you can, go to an Apple store and explain what is going on. If there is a problem with the cord, they will replace it.

Use a toothpick to dig out any pocket lint in the charging port. Its hard to see but all kinds of stuff tends to collect in there.

The cord is new and the ports are clean. It started after the update.
