Hi,
Does anybody know the official way to maintain battery performance and longevity on a Macbook 7.1 (White Uni Mid 2010) ?

Option 1
Run whilst plugged into the mains as often as possible

Option 2
Charge battery to 100% and then allow charge to deplete during normal usage. Recharge when level gets critical.

Option 3
Random charging / usage

Cheers,

Phil

Trying to maintain your battery and/or increase it's longevity is completely pointless. Use your computer how you want to. Batteries can be replaced.

basically what miles said. Ideal charging practices don't really help significantly. My battery is 2.5 years old with 233 cycles and has 89% capacity (it's only supposed to last 300 cycles or so), but the newer batteries last so long that it doesn't really even matter.
