I have the 6s plus, and yes it charges faster with low power mode on obviously. And if you want it to charge quicker use the Ipad charger. My plus gets a full charge in
1hr-30min or 2hours at most if i am using it a lot while charging.

Anything to report on trying to charge the battery while on low power mode. I think it charges my battery a lot faster actually!
Makes sense as some things are turned off. Will charge even faster if in airport mode or completely turned off. All the current goes to charging battery. If you want fastest charge use the iPad 2.1 amp charger.

I don't think the phone actually charges when you power off the device. Although I might be wrong

I thought it didn't because it never shows that charging battery indicator if you power off the device while it's charging

You can charge iPhone while turned off. Plug in iPhone while on and power down after it starts to charge. If it is off and you plug it in it will turn on. It won't show anything on screen, but it will charge.

If you put it in airplane mode and then sleep, turn screen off. You have very little power consumed as screen and radios are the big power users. Hey Siri and alarms still working.

Thanks for the tip. Never knew it was charging

I just assumed it wasn't charging because nothing was showing on screen

Charger is hardware, the icon on screen is software. I d personally find it silly if the battery is dead and phone is off that i could not start charging,..

Yea I totally agree with you, especially since you never know when the battery is fully charged or not being that the screen remains off.

If the battery dies and you plug in a power cord, the screen turns on and shows the charging battery indicator

The reason I thought that is that all the basic phones that I have ever owned would have the screen turned on to indicate charging status even when the phone is turned off (the screen is similar to when iphones dies completely and when you start charging, it shows you the the red charging battery indicator)
