iPod Charging via FireWire on VidiPod

I am aware that the new iPods can't sync music via Firewire, but is it possible that they can charge via firewire? It would save me $30..

BTW, VidiPod is going to be the new standard for talking about the new ipod in comparison with the old ones.

its possible. i did it all the time before i sold my mini and its charger.

Mine charges with no problems on a firewire wall charger.
