"Charging with this accessory is not supported by Apple Watch"

After having my watch on its charger for a few hr's I noticed this message when I went to check battery level:

"Charging with this accessory is not supported by Apple Watch"

Are you using the 5W plug that comes with the watch? When you disconnect and reconnect, does this appear again?

Yes, and it happens every so often as if it's a nock off charger.

Probably a faulty charger. I'm sure your local Apple Store will have a few of them spare.
