Heya!

I have a friend traveling without a laptop in France next week and was wondering if there is a specific charger for the iPhone so he can safely charge his 3G while out of the country. I searched the boards but could not find a discussion about this.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Leslie

The power adapter that comes with the US 3G iPhone will handle any voltage from 100 to 240 volts. 50 or 60MHz. No voltage/frequency conversion would be needed.

So all you need is something to convert the two prong us plug to whatever plug France uses.

A travel or electronics store would have a plug adapter. Sometimes you can just get a direct US->France plug adapter that would be pretty cheap. Other times they might only have a 'multi' country adapter.

the whole of (western) Europe (except the UK) use the same plug
something like this will work

Nope, what you just posted is a europe to US plug. He needs it to go the other way. This is what your looking for...
