I read that somebody from Live Nation is the one on stage with him. They want these shows to go on obviously.
I'm sure they prefer that to canceling them and refunding everybody's money.
I kinda figured somebody sat Charlie down and had a long talk with him. I couldn't see Charlie himself, in his current state of mind, completely reimagining the show and hiring an interviewer to go on the road, all in less than 24 hours.
Dealing with temperamental celebrities as they do, I'd also bet that the Live Nation guys were so glib and sycophantic that by the time they were done explaining it to him, Charlie believed that
he came up with the idea.
Frankly, considering the opening night disaster, it's a pretty good turnaround. I doubt the idea has "legs" though. Yeah, the guy's got fans (or at least onlookers), but the show still sounds like an R-rated version of an interview on
Piers Morgan. And how
many times can even his staunchest fans listen to him talk about how great he is and how anyone who criticizes him is an idiot?
I mean, the show's working now, but I also expect it to get stale pretty quick. With the rest of Hollywood keeping him at arm's length, I wonder what he's going to do next.
