I just unlocked my 1.1.4 I phone OTB with Ipwned last night, worked wonderfully by the way, and now I'm searching for some good 3rd party apps to install. Mainly, I'm looking for a good chat client (messenger) for the Iphone. Are there any suggestion out there for a good chat client and other essential app's for the Iphone? Thanks guys!

Apollo or mobile chat. To get the new mobile chat add http://twenty08.com/installer to your sources.

They both crash though, so dont expect anything great.

There are a few web apps as well (more reliable than Apollo and mobileChat, however not that convenient).
Check http://www.pure-mac.com/iphone/chat.html for a more detailed list.
Personally i use ApolloIM for MSN chan but it's still quit buggy!

When you say "quite buggy" what do you mean?

The best chat client for iPhone right now, frankly, is a webapp.

    http://iphone.beejive.com

Its the most stable and feature-complete.

Truth. When I was still using IM on my phone, BeeJive was my client of choice. I don't tend to anymore though, too much battery hit.

You wont get any alert with a web app, and you will be disconnected when your phone goes to sleep. Apollo is your best bet. It crashes less than MobileChat of any version.

Also make sure you get the patch that allows them to connect. Its also on the installer under IM Chat 1.1.3 fix

I will stick with apollo. What is the point of using geebee of u don't get any alert? I use both mobile chat and Apollo. It won't stay connected but atleast I get alert.
