And the funniest thing is, some people, me included, exactly know that you "wrote" an email with a ChatGPT. NOT you, an app. Its NOT the position i would like to be in...
I can write the exact same thing that is written or something close to it but why waste the time. This is why I am at the top. I focus on what is important while many focus on not using a tool that can take something that takes minutes and make it into seconds. Anytime you want to compare writings let me know?Agreed, they are very easy to pick out.. I always thought it was odd how one can be so bad writing the language they speak.
I'm not an anti-social illiterate, so I have no problem writing emails...but hey, maybe that's unusual.
I don't personally need to, as my company has a 100% blanket ban on using AI. The domains are blocked network wide, so I don't see it.I can write the exact same thing that is written or something close to it but why waste the time. This is why I am at the top. It’s not important but ok. What is important in communication is getting the point across. Period. Our definition of at the top greatly differs.I don't personally need to, as my company has a 100% blanket ban on using AI. The domains are blocked network wide, so I don't see it.
Quite frankly, I'm glad. AI is crap.
No need to brag about being on top. Plenty of people are, myself included. It's not a relevant point. That said, I consider authenticity in interactions and communication as very, very important. AI is not authentic.

I do appreciate you admitting you cannot use tools to your advantage. I am not limited that way

You might need to learn to use it right.Me:
Depens what you do as profession, but as this text, I first write it by myself and give it to the AI. It correct's it. How much time I save making it right? A lot. Will I learn? Yes I do.

Sure, just to give an example. You might need to learn to use it right.
For example when we wanted to list our house. I said "write a real estate blurb focused on the kitchen, expansive outdoor area, and upgrades."
It gave me multiple paragraphs that we used in our listing.
I told it to "write a Christmas message to the field from a new executive." It nailed it.
Is cashless payments being pushed, or are cash users such an insignificant minority that businesses have no significant reason to support them? I occasionally carry cash and use it, but more and more it feels like people complaining that their store doesn’t accept gold.
Please tell me “So bad writing” is an intentional joke
Many years ago my bank had an outage. I was unable to get cash. I was stuffed because I had no other payment option. Now I have a few. My small town grocery store lost power, and had to close. I was stuffed. Now I can buy dog and human food online and have it delivered quickly and inexpensively. Once lost the landline to my home before cell phones. The nearest pay phone was 20 minutes away. I was stuffed. Now there are multiple options and carriers (and satellite!) within a stones throw of me in case of an emergency.
Are things more intertwined today than 100 years ago? Absolutely!
But people tend to forget how limited the alternatives (if there was one) even were in a lot of areas.
Corporations diving headlong into half baked ideas to save a buck is, I’d argue, a distinctly different problem (and not all that new). Hopefully those companies for which it doesn’t pan out are appropriately punished financially.
But maybe I’m a Luddite? I didn’t notice ChatGPT going down. Can someone give me an example of a societal mission critical ability that a bunch of people lost access to with this outage? Or was this even less important than Netflix being down for an hour?
Yes, cashless payments are being pushed, in a lot of supermarkets in the U.K, they have card only self scans and they are getting more of them than ones that take cash and normal checkouts they are reducing, so you either have to wait in a long line or go for self scans, which most are cashless. Is cashless payments being pushed, or are cash users such an insignificant minority that businesses have no significant reason to support them? Sorry but I have to disagree. The old fashioned way of communicating things is to write a piece of communication out that literally the only job is to convey the points. I have multiple executives working for me who are tasked with getting communication out to the field, to different departments, top customers, to agencies, etc.Sure, just to give an example.
I have used AI to code many things for me. It is a big help when you need to code tools for repetitive tasks (Robotic Process Automation). And I have not been able to code by myself before!
AI created also a great IT security plan (yeah..) in minutes for our company as required by officials. (Of course, I had to specify the parameters, which took most of the time.) It is good at helping when you need to understand which laws apply in specific cases. Etc.
In the end, of course, I am responsible for the outcome, but it’s nothing compared to the old-fashioned way of doing things.
Eh. I don't get what you disagree with me because I know the benefits using AI.Sorry but I have to disagree. Someone like you may take an hour or two to do 5-6 of these types of communications. This takes literally 10 minutes max with Chat GPT or AI. This is 1-2 hours back that these executives can do other things they are slated to do. You better adapt or you will get left behind. I pay these people a lot of money to not waste their time on things that can be done in seconds and if there excuse is that "nothing compares to the old fashioned way" then they will be fired and replaced by someone who knows how to use tools and be more efficient.
When you said "but it’s nothing compared to the old-fashioned way of doing things." Absolutely one of the worst things I ever hear from a leader. That and "we do it this way because that is always how we have done it."Eh. I don't get what you disagree with me because I know the benefits using AI.
I met that sentence to have an opposite meaning. Sorry. My bad. To make more clear, I should have continued the sentence. — It’s so much more. As I said. I can now make code that would be impossible for me with the old fashion way. (Starting everything from the scratch)When you said "but it’s nothing compared to the old-fashioned way of doing things." That is using AI in a way that is far more than I can comprehend as I do not code. Obviously certain things have to be done the old fashion way. I just love the ability to do basic mundane things that are time consuming so much faster. Once this gets into lthe legal profession I feel this will be a game changer looking up case law, etcI met that sentence to have an opposite meaning. Sorry. My bad. The sooner you and other people get into their heads that companies don't give monkeys about us the public, the better, all they want is to make money, and they will do what they want.
The majority of people in the U.K are cashless as well, but there are still some places that are cash only. A café in our main Bus station is cash only, and they seem to do fine. I always carry cash. But that’s my point. A business would only ever prevent customers from buying from them IF there weren’t enough of them to offset the cost of accepting cash. In other words, cash only buyers are an insignificant minority.
At least in the US (and last I checked), a grocery store’s customer service desk still has a traditional till that can accept cash. That few people in the US know this leads me to believe most don’t actually care about using cash.
There is a particular type of business in my area that for reasons, is cash only. I don’t know anyone that likes that fact.
No. You wouldn't have a job with me if you just put bullet points down on emails. Now you can take bullet points, paste them into AI and get a cohesive readable email within seconds. When I am trying to figure out why most people are broke in the world I am starting to realize it from the posts in this thread. No wonder I am so overpaidEmails should be super brief and at the most a series of quick bulletin points.
That's how all my emails look from myself and colleagues.
There's nothing there for AI to tighten up.
We have no time for 'make it sound professional or casual'.
Just like this post![]()

I expect more than bullet points unless they are following a coherent paragraph. Just sending an email with bullet points is not acceptable. No I don't care about grammar/spelling in an informal forum. Oh and that sentence is proper.Okay. That’s fine.
You can’t read words after bullet points? I guess you wouldn’t have a job with me.
Because the sentence above isn’t proper, or because of your arrogance and unnecessary judgement?
I was also highly paid, but spent my time doing *work* not making clear concise communication into verbose soup.
Also, most people in the world are “broke” due to insufficient opportunity, corruption, persecution, war, a starting wealth of zero, etc.
(Feel free to find errors in my grammar/spelling, but I’m not the one snubbing my nose at different forms of communication formatting)
