Don't really know. I was joking around about caring about the sub-$10 price difference.

Apple says 1066. And the "Cas Latency" is 7 on the stuff I ordered vs the stuff here with a "Cas Latency" of 9. And timings of 7-7-7-20 vs. 9-9-9-24. While I don't have the slightest idea what any of that means, I assume lower latency is good? Right?

Plus, the RAM I'm getting is a BAMF blue color, vs. this stuff in boring green.

The lower CL (CAS Latency) the better. I've got 7 for coming for me. I remember having CL2 :p

CORSAIR 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 Laptop Memory Model CMSO8GX3M2A1333C9

Just ordered this. Thought I'd pass the deal along. Free shipping too!

God.. I remember when our family got a new Performa 6205 CD in 1995.. we upgraded it to 12 MB of RAM, and that 8 MB cost $400!

Kind of amazing... what would have fifteen years ago cost over $400,000 (and been... hundreds of times slower..) now costs $30. Too bad cars aren't like that :(

Thanks for the tip.

So I got my RAM, installed it, booted good and all. Ran mem test(I think thats it, it was like $2) and everything came up ok. It took forever, like hours. Is that normal?

And my xbench score dropped to 60, from 200. I guess I have to put the old stuff back in and see if it goes back up? I would think that since the mem test came back good, and it boots and everything, the RAM would be ok, but it's the only thing that's changed.

Its noticeably faster with 8GB ram. I was a bit surprised.

I hadn't seen many page outs with 4GB so I wasn't expecting this speed gain lol.

Just installed mine. $50 from Crucial. Frst time upgrading RAM on a MBP and it was a piece o' cake.

lower is better. just make sure both sticks of ram have the same CAS latency.

Yes, that should work fine.

FYI, according to Anandtech's testing, DDR3-1600 is the sweet spot, and lower CAS latencies have no measurable impact.

Hey guys just got the CMSO8GX3M2A1333C9 for my late 2010 mbp 13" installed it and stops botting on the apple screen. Is that a bad ram stick? I return it to amazon and got a new set and it does the same thing.
