Just thought I would give you a heads up. A friend of mine went to this show: http://www.exposureshow.com/
that was held at the International Centre, Mississauga, Toronto Canada which is a photo expo and there was someone selling Applecare incredibly cheaply.
He called me and asked if I wanted one and as I did he purchased for $50.00 Canadian dollars applecare for my late 2012 Macbook air, thats almost a $200.00 dollar saving!!!

I went through the registration process and after sending Apple the purchase details on my Air (bought in Best Buy) and where I purchased the applecare they approved it!!

So you might want to check out these types of expos for incredible savings!

Although you successfully completed the registration process, Apple has been known to go in and void Apple care they believe the code is invalid. Unless you have an actual box with the serial number, your AC can be revoked. Search threads here on AC and eBay.

Do you have a box?

I personally don't have the box because I am in St. Lucia and my friend is in Canada, but he has the box and it was shrink wrapped when he bought it...
He could be lying but then I wouldn't think that he would still be a friend!

$50 for Applecare? Can't be genuine, but not your friend's fault. It's way too easy to create fake Applecare boxes and shrink wrap them.

Just because it went through registration doesn't mean it's valid.
