Cheap RAM for MacBook

Forget Crucial and get 2x1gig sticks from OWC. I always see unstable prices and overpriced RAM coming from the Crucial website.

Ive got a question: does the cas latency make a big difference? OWC are 5.0 while the omni ones are only 2.5. Does it make an impact on performance that is noticable?

Apple RAM upgrades must have the right specs in order to work efficiently. I don't know will that Omni Tech RAM work (should it work, there wouldn't be a noticeable speed bump on latency) but I'm still recommending RAM from OWC personally because they get it from Samsung, Apple's respected ex-supplier for memory. Plus it's only $270 vs. $300 you referred.
