I have an old but very good 20" imac.
Has a Penryn core2Duo.

I used to do some webdesign stuff and going get back into it now I bought CS3 for mac.

But my secondary monitor from my old gaming PC just not good enough.
I got it hooked up to my mac but the mac screen res just blows it out the water.

If I moved stuff from mac screen to the 18.5" external it just HUGE.
not really usable.
So I went hunting for a cinema screen seen how good they look and same res as my imac so thing should not look so huge.

I found a 2009 20" for £29.99 inc shipping.
I'm pretty happy with that.

OK it has a mark down the screen but can live with that as it a 2nd monitor.

also has bonus of usb hub as my mac only has 3 ports.

In System Preferences if you go to Displays, you can click on the Color tab and then change the color profile

I found the setting in end but nothing made the cinema screen same as the imac screen.

Will just have to live with it.
Not like a massive deal but be nice have same colours on both.

It is my secondary screen just to see how my websites look live as I create them on the primary screen in dreamweaver.

Yeah, even with the color profiles I have a hard time getting colors to "pop" in the same way they do on my iMac too

Somehow, I often feel more love for an older Mac than a brandnew shiny one. Nostalgia

Why are you using that. What an old computer

Yes it is old.
I have a crap job and lots of bills.

I will get what I can afford.

It runs el cap happily and does what I want, with only a few beachballs here and there.

I only paid £175 with a full year warranty on the imac so worth it to me.

Lots here still use powerpc mac they older but still work and does the job.
You might have newer stuff but wish people stop bitching others about older hardware.
If they happy leave them alone.

sorry for rant guys.
Most of you are most helpful here.

If you're using a PowerPC Mac you should probably look into buying a new computer

I personally do not use powerPC but some here do.

I do own a powerpc laptop but some my stuff just don't work with it.
