Still running an ATV2 attached to a 720P TV. The ATV2 bugs out and resets once every time we use it. But, except for the 1 min lost while it resets, it still runs well.

We’ve still got an Apple TV 3 hooked up to our tv in the dining room. It’s not as nice or fast as our Apple TV 4 but it gets the job done. In fact it needs restarting less than the Apple TV 4.

Maybe Apple can come out with a mid-range device like a "HalfPod". It would be half the size of a HomePod with only a three-microphone array with about half the audio quality and half the price.

Bet they would sell more than the "Homepod"

The ATV3 is a solid device. I have also noticed that it needs restarting a lot less than my ATV4 and ATV4K.

Imo, the apps on the ATV3 are much better than the much newer apps on the tvOS.

If Siri worked for the ATV3 and Plex was added to it, I would probably just use it over the newer ATVs.

I'm still running ATV3 and will until it or my 2008 Sony tv dies. My parents were running an ATV2 until a couple of weeks ago when it finally died. Replaced it with an ATV4K and I was impressed....but not enough to upgrade for myself.

I've got no issue with the price or performance of the latest Apple TVs. But, please, could we have a decent remote with it ???

Use any remote you want

I have been using the Remote Learning feature on the ATV for over a decade. It is a nice and easy feature to use. it was best with older ATVs, but limited with tvOS.

The downside of using it with newer ATVs is that you lose the ability to close apps since there is no "Home" or "TV app" button.

You also lose the ability to use Siri.

You can use the Remote app on iOS, but then you lose all physical buttons which is more annoying that not having a "Home" button.
