Deecies on eBay are already about £200 on average cheaper than Apple UK price and there's a code on eBay currently "PARTYNOW" which gives a further £75 off!

Top spec is £5424 with the voucher, as opposed to £5769 - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/293330679011
Lowest spec is £2174 instead of £2399 - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303365543764
All 16-inch MacBook Pros here - https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/m.html?_...=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=16-inch&_sacat=0

KRCS also have some good offers on up till the 8th December with their 10% off prices - https://www.krcs.co.uk

1. They are also cheaper on Amazon by ~10% (but the two stock configurations only). Personally would prefer Amazon to Ebay.

2. If you have access to a student email, you can get ~20% off on https://www.theedustore.co.uk/ on the stock configurations (10% for custom configs). They usually do an additional £75 or 5% off (I hear this will be available next week hopefully). This Black Friday, you was able to get a £2,799 model for only £2,190 - oh and you get 4 years warranty included if you purchase from here.

Yeah Amazon have never done any CTO orders strangely, only base models. Amazon or eBay doesn't matter (though it appears Deecies are listing on eBay too, when it's a company using a marketplace the service is going to be the same regardless)

Plenty off offers for students, My UniDays does them too, but not everyone is a student so i'm not counting them as available to everyone.

Personally I'm waiting to see if John Lewis start discounting/ price matching them in the new year, it would be nice to have their 2 year guarantee on top of Apple's 1 year warranty.

Additionally, if Boris wins the election convincingly, it looks like the £ might gain on the $ to between $1.35-1.40 so Apple might shave a bit off the price themselves if it stabilises at that level.

John Lewis only sell at Apple retail. Apple already reduced the price of the 16-inch MacBook Pro by about £200 across the spectrum for upgrades, they won't be changing online store prices anytime soon.

Incorrect. John Lewis regularly price match other retailer's prices (I mean, it's kind of their thing, isn't it.) I was keeping an eye on what they had the 2019 15" going for and particularly the entry stock model was regularly going for up to £200 less than MSRP. Apple are nowhere near as astringent now with setting third party pricing as they have been in the past.

Yes but high street retailers not online - you'll get much better prices online. plus who wants only the entry level model??

To be honest I don't think even Amazon offered too much more than £200 off when I was watching the 2019 15" - maybe on something like Black Friday/ Cyber Monday. I certainly never saw it below £2,100 from any outlet but both John Lewis and Amazon had it for less than MSRP virtually from the time they got them in stock. I'd be perfectly happy with the entry model as it's going to be an office productivity machine (my main reason for buying this model is screen size/ resolution as I can have a document and a lot of reference material open at once, but I don't like being tied to a desk).

In the UK, you’ll almost certainly get warranty issues resolved with amazon due to EU 2 year law, with eBay/Apple, no idea. The CS of Amazon is second time none, worth buying over eBay.

Yep, they sometimes even include 3 year warranty (which they did on my previous MBP 13” 2018, which was already 10% discounted from Apple, with accidental cover only an extra £70/£80).

"IF" it's being sold by direct by Amazon - you seem to be ignoring the fact that eBay is just a front for high street brands and premium resellers just like Amazon these days and you'll get the same service no matter which marketplace it's bought through. Both authorised Apple resellers mentioned sell on both platforms and it's them you'll deal with not Amazon or eBay.

KRCS are running their 10% Black Friday sale for a few more days, and you can also get 10% cashback up to £250 by signing up for a 1 month trial for Complete Savings and clicking through to KRCS from there. This amount is calculated from the price before VAT, and make sure you cancel your subscription before the end of the trial period as it's £15 a month after.

I've just ordered a 2.3 i9, 32gb, 5500m 8GB, 2TB model for £3248, so £2998 after the £250 cashback, which is £611 less than from Apple! It definitely takes longer than ordering same config from Apple though, as they said it might not arrive until the start of Jan.

I couldn’t see this on the site?...where do you do this complete savings things? Also are your prices there correct as 3248-611 isn’t 2298?

It's not advertised on the KRCS site, but they are one of the retailers offering 10% cashback on the Complete Savings site. Once you have signed up for the 30 day trial, you can see all the available retailers.

Sorry, made a typo there - total price is £2998 after the £250 cashback. This is £611 less than the Apple price of £3609 for the same config.

Hmm, awaiting a recently ordered 16" 32Gb 5500 8Gb 1Tb from Apple @ £3249 ... and now you've pointed me in the direction of big savings via KRCS and CS. Never heard of the latter - normally use QuidCo but that's hit and miss.

So the same KRCS model can now be had £2924 - £250 (capped) = £2674. That's £575 off!

Does anyone know what KRCS' customer service is like? 4/5 on TrustPilot (but almost all the negative reviews on there are 1/5 so they seem rather Marmite). I'm based down south so there's no way I can do any store visits.

Cheers all

Customer service seems good, and they've been an Apple reseller since 1984. You also get a 2 year hardware warranty, compared to 1 year from Apple (without Applecare). They also offer 0% interest for 10 months with V12 finance at the moment. The only downside so far is the long wait, apparently 4-5 weeks for BTO orders around Christmas time, compared to 2 week estimate from Apple.

There's a lot of complaints online about people signing up to Complete Savings and not realising they'll be charged the £15 fee after the trial period ends. I'm finding it pretty good so far, bought about 5 things from different retailers and they have all tracked successfully and been paid out fairly quickly. Make sure you disable any Adblockers on both the CS site and retailer before you click through!

Ok, cool. Had a chat with them earlier and ETA on new orders is, like you say, now into Jan. Apparently the first year warranty is direct with Apple but the second is with them via instore visit or courier/inspection. Not sure the second year is going to be a great help to me so maybe Applecare or alternative insurance is the way to go.

Good to hear CS is tracking and paying accurately.

In Germany base 16 model 2425Euro so it's about £2050, they usually have cheaper electronics than UK

Thank you Ma2k5 for highlighting this. I purchased the base 16” from Edu Store earlier today for £1895, and this included an extra £50 off via a code on their homepage which wasn’t there yesterday when I was originally going to purchase. c. £300 saving over the Apple educational discount price.
