I know this thread appears a lot but prices change so quickly I thought I would ask. Just looking for people's experiences getting the above for the 13" MBP. Any killer deals out there at the moment? Can be US or UK.

    Cheers!

Here is one, but damn the prices went up by like 20-30 bucks!!!

    OWC

CRUCIAL <---I payed $60 for this like 2 months ago.

If you're not in a rush I would wait a little. It seems like prices fluctuate and wow did they rise. 20-30 bucks more is a lot to pay for something i got 2 months ago for cheaper.

I've found datamem's stuff to be stellar, if not the rock-bottomest price. And it's warrantied for life. They tend to carry better stuff, too - they'll have CL5 where amazon will have CL6.

I'm quoting pc2-6400 there as an example. I think current macbooks take something else (with the slot in a different spot but the speed escapes me right now...).

The CL number refers to latency of the RAM. You can google search for a ton of posts discussing it and it's value. I'm using it here simply as a measure of RAM quality.

Anyone expecting RAM prices to drop further in the next few months?

4GB of DDR2 is about $50 Canadian...I'm assuming that's the rock bottom price.

...but if you went to that link, you'd see it was "temp out of stock"... they'll update the prices when they get it again and it will be more expensive...

Same here, bought 4GB of RAM from Crucial in August for my 15" MBP for $60, only to find it's now $80.

Why are the prices rising, after holding or dropping for months/years?
