Forced to buy new iPhone as current one is fubar. Will purchase the least expensive. Do you expect the iPhone 7 or 8 to still be available? At lower price? Or.......thanks for your predictions.

The iPhone 7 will likely be discontinued with the 8 remaining for another year, based on what Apple has done in the past. You don't have much longer to wait to find out for sure.

You will have your answer in a few hours.

Most likely the iPhone 8 will be cheapest remaining iPhone in the lineup.

If you don’t mind buying from from places other than Apple, you could probably still find older phones.

Also, check Apple’s refurbished store after the event, might still be some iPhone 7 on there if Apple gives them the axe.

Almost certainly iPhone 8

I think next year we'll see an iPhone 8 style "iPhone SE2" with updated internals.

Unfortunately, I can't wait...but would if I could.

FWIW: Phone6 turns off at around 80% battery (give or take 10%). Comes back on showing 10%. Immediately dies. Plug in charger and phone immediately back to the 80% battery. May happen twice a day or not for a week. Battery was replaced two years ago. And, I performed the DPU(?). Phone is over 4 years old, so .....

Thanks for reminding me about refurb store. Last week there were iPhone 7, but due to configuration (lot's of memory) they were more expensive than a new lowest priced iPhone 7. (But,,,may be a "surplus" in two hours....)

My guess is the 7 will be discontinued and prepaid carriers will have crazy deals with them like the did with the iPhone SE. I’m going to see if I can grab a 7 if I find a great deal IF I decide to replace the iPhone SE, which is in new condition and really not that old.

Apple does battery replacements for $49, that could be an option if you want to wait for the upgraded 8/SE2 that’s rumored to release around March of next year.

Apple Genius (I know, I know...) said my 2 Yr old battery was fine. And since phone dies when battery showing 80%, I suspect some other hardware. Maybe Apple will replace battery - and give me credit if not the fix?

Just now, phone support ran diagnostics and said battery needs replacing. Keeping fingers crossed.

iPhone 8 is now the cheapest phone on their website. Anyone remember how much it was a day ago?

Yesterday, cheapest iPhone 8 was $539 (no trade in). Today it's $404. Difference of $135.

Today's $404 for iPhone 8 is cheaper than yesterday's iPhone 7 price of $449.

But, there is a $45 fee paid to the ATT/Verizons/etc..guess for SIM card?
