Check Hard Drive Health?

is there a program that i can use to check my Macbook Pro Hard drive health like i can check for battery?

Also which program is good for checking errors on the hard drive like Disk Defragment on PC.

Disk Utility (comes with Mac OS X - Spotlight should help finding it) checks the S.M.A.R.T. status, like SMART Reporter does too (http://www.corecode.at/smartreporter/index.html).
