Standard carp. Caught dozens of those bad boys, feels like your hauling in a log.

All about hand line fishing for grouper. That's where you'll find a thrill :)

Ya, it is just a grass carp. That one actually fought a bit...
Pulled out about 50yds of drag.

I have caught gag grouper before, but have never managed to hook a keeper.
Going fishing for kingfish this weekend. Lets hope I get a 40lb'er :)

For Bass a texas rig is the way to go. I use a 1/8oz bullet weight, 3/0 hook and a Junebug color worm. That will catch you tons of bass.

I use 10lb Flurocarbon line... My bass setup is a Shimano Curado reel and a Shimano Compre rod. Setup costs a little over $300, but WELL worth it.

Thanks for sharing, i have a pretty nice bass set up for up north, all it looks like I have to do is go from 8lb to 10lb test. Thanks again though man, last time we were using only hot dogs, and I caught i decent sized cat about 13" out of a little pond. I was really surprised haha.

Nice catch!

Personally, I only like salt water fishing. My father and I were visiting one of my Uncle's in Coral Gables and we went fishing in the Everglades. We caught 13 Snook in a few hours. The guides weren't too happy because their customers weren't catching anything and we were showing them up (they'd be fishing near the mangroves and we come around and start catching all the fish ... crappy guides I guess). Too bad we didn't get to keep any as it was the day after the season closed for Snook. ;)

Have fun Kingfish fishing. I LOVE deep sea fishing! Although Sailfish and Marlin are my favorites.

or muskies,, that's what i love, I've hooked a couple of thos ebut they always break my line when they r close to the boat or something completely out of the ordinary happens, it's like i ll never be able to catch a muskie....

Yeh Muskies are hard to land unless you're rigged for them, namely a leader but it helps to have a pole with a little backbone. I generally fish with lighter tackle because I really enjoy a good fight, i.e. 6-8 lb test on a light spinning rod, and have hooked some pretty big muskies and not landed them. This is in Aurora, CO where the state record was taken. Back in MI where I'm from originally I used to catch those monster carp. We did a lot of a night fishing with crawlers, mostly for Channel and Mud catfish but the occasional gigantic carp would come, along with dogfish and sheepshead. Those big carp are like hauling in logs, lol. I have a pic like that from when I was about 10 yrs old, and I can barely hold the fish out.

Fishing is really good here in Southern Illinois. In fact, it's one of the few main reasons I stayed around here.

We fish for Catfish most of the year. I catch them on the middle of a lake called Rend lake on shrimp. I will fillet them, marinate the fillets in butter/lemon and seasoning, and grill them in tinfoil. You just have to try it!

Crappie and Bass are caught just as well.

Are you serious?!?

How do they taste?? I thought nobody eats them...

Good job all all those Snook!

I hooked up with a kingfish last weekend but didn't land him.

Snapped my leader.
