Check Spelling = on; Auto Correct = off?

Is there a Cydia app that allows the Check Spelling to stay on while turning off Auto Correct? I hardly ever hit the wrong key on the keyboard, but I constantly have to deal with the iPhone changing my words to bizarre things. For example it changes Aguilera to Shippers... haha. But I do appreciate the spell checker. I don't see why the two are linked.

And is there a way to update the dictionary? I read a while back that it was possible.

ManualCorrect on Cydia. I think that's exactly what you're looking for.

I have a question, everytime I reboot my phone it restores the keyboard settings to default and uninstalls the Emoji keyboard, why is this?

Or go into something like notepad, and type the word several times (canceling the auto-correct each time) and after about six typings it learns the word.
