can the OP or someone else help me check my iPhone's grills as well? I think I have the same "issue" or shall I say issues?
yes, I am joking!

Oh there's issues indeed...

Some of the people on this forum are batsh*t crazy.

Seriously.

Settle down people, nothing is 100% ever. I guess mine has some dust under the speaker holes but what do I care, if I plan to take this machine anywhere other than a climate-controlled sterile bubble it's going to happen anyway.

You guys do actually use your computers right? Not just stare at them day in and day out looking for any possible imperfection...

I would probably die of laughter watching you try to buy and be happy with a car!

I seriously don't know who's crazier anymore...posters who start threads like this...people who reply to agree/SUPPORT their psychosis...or me for continuing to read this lunacy.

This is right up there with returning a MBP because it was missing its "cloth." Congrats you put all those "I'm returning my notebook because there's one stuck pixel" posters to shame.

This thread seriously has me laughing right now, so thanks to everyone who contributed. Made my night.

by all means

...call the customer service people and tell them they have shipped you a computer that is just FULL of HOLES. Outrageous!

I mean not one or two - it looks like you've got hundreds of them there!

Wow this is just outta control...

All i said was to check ur speaker grills to see if u also had the etches.

I said it bugged me... but i wasnt plannin on doing anything else.

I love how everyone just assumes some one is crazy for bringing up something like this up. I'm glad you all had a laugh.

I've come to the conclusion that Mac users are the most anal retentive people on Earth. There is no such thing as a perfect product. I'm sure my ALuminum MacBook has some but I couldn't be arsed to look it over that closely. <shrug>

While I agree that this isn't a reason for return, the OP has every right to ask people to see if the new manufacturing process does cause these cosmetic imperfections.

Heck, I would get bugged too, but doesn't mean I would return the machine and bitch about it. But it does mean I can ask if others see the same issue.

And yes, mac users on this forum are very anal. :p

Grills

My grills look great.

thanks. that is exactly why i started this thread.

i never planed on returning my mbp. i for one love it. i just saw this and was curious if anyone else had this issue.

plus gave me a chance to test out the macro shot on my 880is, :p

I'm sorry...but seriously? That's like saying the barbers cut 10 of your hairs 5mm shorter than the rest of those on your head :p As long as bits don't fall off it and it doesn't spit fire at you, i'd say you have a perfect machine.

If it really bothers you hide the speaker grills with slices of cheese or something.

fix it with a 20 lbs sledge... it's easy to use to.

1. Open your Mac up

2. Take aim at the speaker grills.

3. Crush those damn flaws.

I swear you'll never see those insignificant "marks" again.

Some hilarious comments here, and I see the point, but I do feel for the OP. With a high precision product like this, with a minimal styling, it does lend itself to very careful scrutiny, in the same way that minimalist architecture must exhibit higher than usual standards of finish, any imperfection will stand out. I am buying a Mac primarily for it's superior standards of excellence...yes I am....really.

No, what is the OP planning to do when it gets its first scratch? sell it ad buy another one? Need to see a shrink in the meantime...

get a gf? maybe that'll rectify the *non*-problem

have one... and yes she thinks its nuts that i noticed it too...

no accept it for what happens... i said it bugged me.

my 2700 tag carrera has scratches on the casing and bracelet and what not... it happens.

i only posted the picture to see if there where other owners with mbp that had a similar issue from manufacturing.

I am 100% stunned. How did you even notice this? I'm typing on mine at the minute and the wholes are just...TINY!!! How is it possible to see imperfections on them?

With a complete lack of respect intended, this truly, is fail.
