Hi everybody,

a couple of weeks ago my macbook pro was stollen. I immediately called the Apple help desk and I informed them about this. The guy that i talked to, told me that I might be able to track the machine through the mac address. Is this possible?

Thank you

If you dont have specialist software (such as Hidden) installed before hand, then the answer is likely to be no. (You need something that kicks your MacBook Pros mac address to a server outside whosever local network its on - and you hope it hasnt either been wiped, or just not connected to the internet).

Hi chrismacguy,

I was afraid that you might say this. Actually, I came to realize how difficult is to track a laptop by the mac address. The good thing is that I also have the serial number, but I do not know if that will help me.
