Checking RAM?

Just wanted to see how you guys check how much ram is being used (or hard drive etc too)? I have the SR macbook fwiw. I guess my question is about how to verify performance.

Activity Monitor (it's in your /Applications/Utilities folder)

also, the iStat Pro widget is very handy.
