I was stumbling along the web and found the site metacafe. On this site i found a series of videos by shootingeggs. These are cool tricks and other fun stuff you can do like water that turns to ice and gives off heat, or flying hydrogen exploding condoms, or if i mix solid x and liquid y one, i get a substance that with one drop blow up a watermellon.

My question is how do people like this figure this stuff out? is it just already known stuff applied in weird ways? or do they just get a good grade in chemistry and have way to much free time?

My theory is that their parents are chemists and they got to play with chemicals all their childhood.

a lot of these things, are born out of those science kits you can find at the toy store, just re-worked. And well, these days, you can find anything on the internet....

Those are the types of things that kids had in magic books in the 50s, the anarchist cookbook in the 60s, chemistry sets in the 70s.

Those were the days. Me and Lefty and Stumpy all had a great time.
