Chime but no display

    You can hear the boot chime but no display on screen.

    Is the mobo dead?

    It could be. It could also be a monitor problem or a monitor cable problem.

    No, the chime occurs after the Power-On-Self-Test has passed. So the mobo isn't completely dead, although there could be a problem with the onboard video.

    In any case, it sounds like a video problem, I'd check the monitor and cable connections first, and test the monitor on another computer if you have one.

    If it's a hard drive model, do you hear the hard drive booting up the OS?

    Update:
    Can hear chime
    Can hear hard drive spin
    Do not hear fan
    Do not see output on monitor
    Do not see front light

    Could bad RAM or battery cause this?
