Smartphone accessory makers are already busy producing iPhone 13 cases based on chassis models that supposedly give them advance knowledge of how Apple's upcoming flagship devices will be sized, and one brand has taken the unusual decision to publicly share the models they're working off on social media.

Well-known Chinese case maker Benks today posted on Weibo images of the models on which their moulds are based. Leakers DuanRui and Ice Universe were both quick to re-post the images to Twitter, and the pictures show all four of the iPhone 13 models that we are expecting, with dimensions similar to the 2020 iPhone lineup. The four devices come in the same 5.4-inch, 6.1-inch, and 6.7-inch options, with both standard and "Pro" variants of the 6.1-inch model.

In terms of appearance, the main difference this year will be a slightly smaller notch on the front, a diagonal rear dual-camera array on the iPhone 13 mini and the standard 6.1-inch, and a larger rear camera unit on the iPhone 13 Pro models. Schematics seen by MacRumors have revealed that the upcoming iPhones will feature a thicker overall design and a larger camera bump on the ‌iPhone 13‌ Pro and Pro Max.

The larger camera modules are likely due to the rumored inclusion of sensor-shift stabilization for all models of the lineup and improved Ultra Wide capabilities on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Case makers often base their initial case designs for upcoming iPhones based on leaks and rumors, so the images may not be true representations. However, all the information we've garnered so far would suggest there's good reason to believe they are accurate.

For the lowdown on everything we know about the new features and improvements coming with the iPhone 13, which Apple is expected to launch in its usual September timeframe, be sure to check out our dedicated guide.

What happened to apple stopping the leaks? 🤔😂

If they violated an NDA Apple may cut them off future preproduction info needed to have cases ready at launch, which could cost them money.

How do we know these are iPhones, the logo is clearly blurred

Each shows enough to see it's an Apple. That, of course, isn't proof it is an iPhone mockup.

Those models feature LiDar sensors on all of them! Well if the cameras on all iPhones have sensor shift stabilisation and LiDar scanners then the Mini will one awesome phone. And the standard model will make the 6.1" Pro model a difficult purchasing decision? Will be very interesting to see what Apple does with its iPhone cameras this year.

Feels like I already have the iPhone 13 since I don’t have green tint anymore. 😃😂
How is this a leak, lol? They just 3D printed the "leaked" CAD files which on their own are not the final design. These mockups/dummy units are not a leak

The vr capabilities of these phone cameras will be very exciting

apple take their time but they eventually get there and … hey presto !

game over for their competition

slowly slowly catchee monkey…..

I think I actually prefer this diagonal setup for the base models over the current design.

I wonder what features they can add to make my 12 Pro Max seem old? I could not care less about the design, I want to know what it can do.

most likely will be ltpo related stuff (I.e always on display or 120hz)

old is user dependent though. If you care about features like that it will feel old but if you don’t then it won’t in the slightest

Generally the S lines age better. This shouldn’t be any different.

“S” year is a peculiar term now as apple doesn’t seem to prioritize that branding.
Whatever they’re marketing teams come up with, who knows. They’re likely arguing over 12s vs 13 for multiple reasons and it is mostly marketing

apple hasn’t had a tick-tock cycle for quite some time now, and they seem to focus more on iterative updates as a lot of their tech has matured. 6s was the last true “S” model; the Xs was not a classic “S” model. It was a very minor speed improvement and almost identical to the model it replaced; was more marketing than anything else.

traditionally S models used the same chassis with speed improvements - lately it has been all branding.

the 7, 8 and 2020 SE are all essentially “S” models despite their naming scheme

the 11 is a “XR” S model

etc etc

apple has been more about branding these days, with a focus on streamlining manufacturing by continuing certain already-sunk R&D costs and manufacturing lines to add value to subsequent products

Cannot wait for Austin Mann to attest Apple this is the best camera they put in an iPhone. Wait could it be he does this every year? 🤔
