I wonder will "Find My" start being subscription based outside of Apple Computing devices ?

Have a feeling Chipolo will be used for the wrong purposes like tracking somebody and the person being tracked won’t know as I don’t think Chipolo’s software is sophisticated enough and will Apples warning work with Chipolo ? Doubtful

See when I saw the rumoured AirTag renders, I immediately thought Yuck, why would paying consumers want to carry an obvious spinning space disk around with them like some kind of brushed aluminium Tesla cyber prick.

So this potential upcoming product by Chipolo has reinvigorated my desire for set-and-forget tag-like things.

They blend in very well, as utility devices should. Super small. I hope they work as transparently as possible with the Find My function.

If the person being tracked is an iPhone/iPad user, then their device will alert them with a notification when it notices that the movements of the non-owned device are broadly the same as their own device. Clever handling of a potentially sticky issue.

The fact that Chipolo One Spot is shipping in June could mean the AirTags are rolling out in time for the 6/7 WWDC and Apple won't allow Chipolo to sell sooner. 🤔

Or they aren't coming at all and licensing the tech to other companies was the announcement.

so i'm curious — did you see my 'find my burrito' comment two below the one you responded to, or is it some crazy esp?)
Must be that "great minds esp" ;)... didn't see it, but do now... you were first by days so gave you the thumbs up:)
