I guess rechargeable is evolving but not that much. Additional evolving is "Higher Price" than AirTag? That's more live devolving. No precision tracking makes it a Non Starter for Me. Louder sound than AirTag is a non issue for me. As I have hearing problems. So Precision Tracking is a must.

I doubt that a built-in battery and USB-c port is lighter than a removable battery. The volume required certainly is larger.

I couldn't disagree with the review more. What I dislike most about the AirTag is that the high-pitch beep is nearly impossible to locate. I would love a product like an AirTag but with a better sound.

And the non-replaceable battery is a hard dealbreaker for me.

Reactions: arc of the universe
I bought the first Chipolo tags, but after the first firmware update the battery status was crippled. Started to get “replace battery” notifications, only a few days after I put in a fresh battery. Another one had flimsy battery contacts that broke off easily. The last one just stopped working. Barely a year old.

Of the four Chipolo tags, only one is still in use. Replaced the others with Apple’s Airtag last year.
Got them on sale for less than the Chipolo’s.

When the new AirTag version is rechargeable too, I’ll buy them.
