Do I need to choose a Verizon phone plan if I buy the Verizon iphone x version full price in the retail apple store ?

Are you currently a VZW customer? If yes, then there's no need to select a plan. I'm unsure if you can sign up to Verizon in an apple store if you're not a customer. I never tried, so it might be possible. If you can, I can only imagine that you must select all of the options including data plan to fully sign up
