yeah I saw those m-audio but I don't know, they look a bit too "plastic" to me.. can you understand what I mean? you say their quality is ok? both in terms of sound and construction.

I took some pictures for you, maybe a user picture will do a better job of explaining it..

Its the first six or so images of my flickr

You can't go wrong with the bose speakers if you hear them you will be in awe. If you have the funds get the bose!

^^ Bose is quality, style and compact - if they're out of your budget then I'd look at secondhand ones, you can get them for as low as $80 on eBay

I've had a set for 5 years (as well as the in-ear headphones) and I've never heard better quality, plus they'd look great with your MB

I have the Bose Companion 2s as well, though they are the older design and I really like them. The fact that they have two different inputs as well as a headphone out is very cool. They sound good and I constantly move them around my house.

Can you honestly justify this. You could clearly go wrong, by paying too much money. Bose is overpriced and extremly well marketed. I mean, sure, they don't sound that bad - but for how much you are paying you have got to be kidding me.

And to those that talk about how small and compact they are. Really you make a 2.1 system with tiny satellites and then a massive sub, it defeats the whole small and compact part?

Or you could buy Bose in-ear headphones and just go completely wrong.

guys thank you very much to everybody, especially andrew, you've been really really kind. :)
uff I can't make up my mind, I hope i'll get an epiphany one of these days.. :D
