Hehe.. I suspect that's nothing like a hillbillies' 'shootin car'? :)

Yeah definitely not! :) While it is 30+ years old (like a hillbilly shootin car) it's one of his pride-and-joy posessions... as far as shooting it goes, it's better suited to carshows than a gun range. :D

This is going to date me; but I was not generally a snooper except for one year; must have been about 1982; I asked for the Atari 2600 version of "Raiders of the Lost Ark." (Check out the screenshots for a BIG laugh). Throughout December I finagled ways to get home before my parents; I would take it out of my mother's dresser and play it before they got home. Man, that game was horrible (in retrospect; at the time I thought it was fabulous).

Yup must confess I used to! Not so much now though, but still, on occasion, if I really want to know ;) :p

I snooped a little as a kid/teen. Some of the boxes were pretty obvious when shaken (LEGOs for instance). And there were times when my parents would pull the tag off of something and throw it in the trash. They'd forget it was right there on top and ask me to take out the trash.

For the most part, now, there aren't any surprises on Christmas morning. I'm either with them when they buy it, or I tell them that's what I want. (Though snooping is pointless now, as I've moved out and gotten married.)

LOL. I used to do this every year. I found it as part of the fun of Christmas, the hunt to find the gifts. It really wasn't the fact of finding the gifts themselves I don't think. But the fun of trying to figure out the hiding spots. :)

Even when I was a big snooper, my folks still managed to sneak a surprise or two on Christmas morning that I did not find while hunting. Which means that they bested me in the hunt. :D

I have since stopped, and it would be especially difficult since I no longer live with them. Haha. Good times.

I'm getting 2 sets of JBL Creatures II speakers(one mom one dad), 8 port switch(dad), iKlear(mom), a digital camera i have yet to pick out(mom), 300gb external hd(dad), airport express(dad)

divorced parents has it's ups and downs :D

When I was 7 I would look and find.
When I was 13 or so I could tell just by shaking. I knew the size and shape. There were times when I could almost smell the colors. I knew what it was packed with to distract.
At 16 I just knew. Sometimes it was accidentally revealed, usually it was just looking and knowing.

My first christmas with my now wife she got me some great presents and then was pissed when I told her what they were. I walked into my apartment to see the wrapped gifts and then thanked her for them specifically. Then she said "Okay smart alek, what color is it." She nearly killed me when I said blue.

After that I gave up on knowing. Turned off that part of my brain. I suppose its atrophied by now. She almost managed to pull of a surprise party for my 30th

Ah.... the irony...

I've still resisted the temptation to peek into the order system and find out what my CHristmas present is.

But the iPhoto book which is part of my mother's present arrived at her neighbour's house yesterday (addressed to me) and she opened it and showed all her friends. She phoned me to let me know how good it looked

Ooops!
